Senate Meeting 28 September 2006

A relatively uneventful meeting, particularly from the point of view of general staff.

It kicked off with a presentation from Professor Perry Bartlett, head of the Queensland Brain Institute.

The Vice-Chancellor's report consisted primarily of the usual round-up of good news stories about the achievements of the institution, its staff and students.

Annual reports for Research, Staff Development Committee and Occupational Health & Safety were received, having already been published in the University community.

Other business was routine.

2007 Budget

It was reported that Finance Committee (which is not allowed to have representative staff members any more - see my report of the 27/7/06 meeting) had considered the 2007 University Budget Paper #1. The final Budget Papers for 2007 will be presented to Senate at its final meeting for the year on 30 November 2006.
