These included policy changes, reports from Senate committees, update on appointment of next Chancellor. A significant building refurbishment project with heritage approval was approved.
Lengthy debate, mainly over where certain disciplines and activities sit in the structure, but ultimately passed by the majority, with a couple of abstentions.
The annual ceremony to recognise professional staff who have completed 25 years of service to the University was held just prior to the Senate meeting and I was once again proud to attend, particularly as three of my own staff from SCMB were recognised. Among the 30 feted staff was the late Mark Kranz, Manager of Transport Systems, who passed away unexpectedly 18 September. Touchingly, Mark's wife and daughter attended to accept his award.
