These included statements by the Acting Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, PPL changes, reports from Senate committees, honorary degree nominations, and noting of the draft annual report of the University. There was also discussion of progress against the KPIs in the UQ strategic plan.
No significant change from the report I gave at the December 2015 meeting on the draft budget. The 2015 end-of-year surplus was slightly better than expected. Productivity is up. Some of the surplus is going into the Enhancing Systems & Services project.
The DVC (Academic) gave an update on the development of a strategy centred on the student experience from pre-admission to post-graduation. Summary survey results were presented.
I am now a member of the Committee for Equity, Diversity and the Status of Women.
As it was Professor Max Lu's final Senate meeting before he leaves the University, a tribute to his service was made.
